I love OJ, apple juice, and what not; but I dont care for the actual fruit itself. Am I missing out on something by drinking the juice instead?
Alot of companies add all sorts of weird dyes and sugars to your juice. At least if you are going to drink it buy ones that have no additives.
You really should eat fruits. Eating them in the raw and not processed is always the best way to get nutrients! Get a juicer and make your own!

Pomegranate, a Persian native, is one of the oldest fruits known to man. The Romans called it the Punic apple. The pomegranate made its way to Italy via Carthage (Punic), and therein lies the root of its Latin name, Punicum malum (apple). Its current botanical name is Punicum granatum with Punicum recognizing Carthage as a focal point for pomegranate cultivation and granatum referring to the many seeds or grains in the fruit. It was the Moors who brought the seedy fruit to Spain round 800 A.D. The pomegranate reached American shores by way of the Spanish conquistadors. It is grown in the American West and South with great commercial success. Recent scientific studies indicate that Pomegranate juice exhibits powerful antioxidant properties attributed to the presence of certain tannin called punicalagin, identified as the active compound responsible for maintaining and promoting optimal cardiovascular health.

I got this Bolthouse Farms juice and it has all these different fruits from concentrate. I’m trying to figure out how much healthier it is from the actual fruits themselves?
its organic by the way
fruit juice is less good for you than whole fruit because of its concentrated sugars and its lack of fiber.

Do companies like jamba juice, Robek’s, Cold Stone, etc. add something special to give their smoothies a different consistency and taste? I make smoothies at home with yogurt, fruit, ice, and juice, they taste great, but not like a smoothie you buy. So does anyone know what goes in to name brand smoothies?
I believe the key is in the mixers or blenders that they use and also the combination of fruits. If you add a banana, mango and some pineapple juice to any smoothie it will make it sweeter and smoother going down. Also use frozen fruit instead of ice it will have less ice chunks.

I just got a juicer. I want to juice odd things like celery, potatoes, and other vegetables. I know that there are recipes out there where certain fruits are used to disguise the nasty taste of vegetable juice. Do you know of any?
I stared at this question for awhile and asked myself, why would anyone buy something that makes something that you need to disguise what it makes. Don’t get me wrong I understand the health benefits of juicing, I too own 2 juicers myself and they’re still in the box, Gifts. Go to your local bookstore and they have lots of books with recipes that are tested. If someone gives you a recipe that contains sardines and cumquat’s skip over it. juice away!

I have too much apple juice and want to use it in my cooking. If anyone has any receipes with apple juice included I would appreciate the forward to my e-mail.
Thanks,
Becky B
You could use apple juice in many recipes that call for water, like cake mixes, jello, or pancake mix. You could cook with it, for instance, cook pork roasts in the apple juice in a crock pot. You could reconstitute dried fruits like cranberries or raisins with the juice. Use it in smoothies, instead of milk.

100% Fruit. Hand Picked. Nectar, from Latin word nektar or “drink of the gods” is defined as a beverage of fruit juice and pulp. Fruit nectars are very popular in Italy and throughout Europe. They have a much higher fruit content since they are made with fruit puree. Most European nectars are very thick and are often diluted with water, while bionatur organic Fruit Nectars have been formulated to be delicious alone or with water added. The fruit nectars are produced using hand-harvested heirloom variety fruits from select regions of Italy. The flavor of heirloom fruit is sweet, intense and true. The nectars combine fruit juice with fruit pure for a thicker, distinctly different flavor without added sugar or water. The resulting beverage tastes exactly like the fruit from which it is derived and is not too sweet or pulpy. bionatur organic Fruit Nectars are a result of decades of research and development with fruit beverages. They are distinctive and extraordinary beverages of the truest fruit flavor.
